Born on the 2nd of July 1991 in Mbiama, Ahoda West LGA Rivers State, Burna Boy is a reggae and Dance-hall Afro-beats artiste known for hit singles, Run My Race, De javu, heavens gate (feat UK star Lily Allen) and most recently “gbona”.
Real names Damini Ogulu, burna boy hails from the eastern part of Nigeria (Rivers state) and is the grandson of Benson Idonije (manager of Late Nigerian Afrobeats Legend Fela Kuti).

Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy was born and raised by Samuel and Bose Ogulu in the garden city, Port-Harcourt Nigeria. In addition to being a wealthy family they had a very strong history and background in the Nigerian music industry with Burna Boy’s grandfather a manager to Afrobeats legend Fela Kuti.

Burna Boy’s passion and musical interest was gotten from his grand-father Benson Idonije. His grand father’s history and connection with music icon fela kuti played a major role in his decision to focus on music as a career.
Burna Boy returned from the UK in the year 2010 to sign a record deal with aristokrats records, since then he has grown exponentially achieving in just a few years what other artistes fight for decades to get. After the launch of his career in 2010 burna boy in the following year 2011, released his first three singles including “shobeed” (a freestyle), “Burn Notice” and “Burn identity”. The release of these songs warmed him up to the music industry and gave him a taste of things to come. Burna Boy stepped it up a notch by releasing the hit single, “like to party” on the 31st of may 2012 with a music video following few months after (5th of September) that same year.

He got banned from entering the UK
According to a report published by THE NET on the 2nd of December 2013, Burna Boy was part of a gang that stabbed someone to death in London. He was then tried as a minor and sentenced to jail, only to be released Eleven (11) months later on parole for two months with community service on the grounds of good behaviour.
However the real reason for his ban according to reports was that he broke parole and travelled back to Nigeria eventually signing with Aristokrat Records.
It should be stated that Burna Boy has denied that he ever stabbed someone to death in the UK, claiming all reports of his crime and incarceration are false.
Threat to kill bloggers
In 2015 burna boy threatened to kill bloggers who promote or write wrong things about him, with cryptic tweet reading;

Burna Boy threatened popular Zimbabwean dance hall singer Buffalo Souljah after both of their sides were reportedly involved in a pool side brawl in Da LES, South Africa at the 2015 Ciroc hosted all white party.

In 2015 also Burna boy posted two pictures of himself with a gun on Instagram. The bone of contention is not if these guns were licensed or not, it is the fact that he just renewed a multi-million deal with telecom giants GLO and posting pictures of guns does not portray himself in a good way especially being an ambassador to a huge company.
Had An Alleged babymama
According to a post on Legit.ng, a lady Uju Stella alleged Burna Boy impregnated her and asked her to abort the pregnancy which she refused and he allegedly threatened to kill her. Burna Boy was later alleged to have gone to the lady’s house where he destroyed her door. He later in an Instagram video sang that he slept with her only once. Even though the accusations turned out to be false, it still affected him in a bad way.
Dragged For Owing Producer Money
In April 2016, Burna Boy and Orbeat became embroiled in a Twitter fight with the producer calling him out for owing him for his production efforts and unauthorized release of the single Acting Bad. Orbeat was the producer behind his popular hit song Soke.
